INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE MARINATION:
- Chicken - 400 g
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 2 tsp
- Green chili paste - 1 tsp
- Vinegar - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Egg - 1
- Maida - 2 tbsp
- Corn flour - 3 tbsp
- Oil - ½ tsp
FOR THE BATTER:
- Water - 1 cup
- Soya sauce - 2 tbsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Chilli sauce - 1 tsp (optional)
- Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp
- Vinegar - 1 tsp
- Corn flour - 1 tbsp
- Chilli flakes - 1 tsp
FOR THE SAUCE :
- Oil
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Green chili - 4
- Onion - 2
- Capsicum - 1
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp
METHOD:
FOR MAKING CHILLI CHICKEN:
- Cut the chicken into small pieces.
- Mix together ingredients listed under " for the marination
".
- Marinate the chicken well and keep aside for 1 hour.
- In a pan, heat oil.
- Fry chicken pieces on medium heat until slightly brown.
- Take
out the fried chicken pieces on a kitchen paper and keep aside.
FOR MAKING SAUCE:
- In a bowl, add the ingredients mentioned under "for the batter" and mix well. Keep aside.
- In a pan, heat oil.
- Add
ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
- Now add onion, green chili, and capsicum. Saute for a minute.
- Add the batter mix and let it boil.
- Once boiled, add salt and pepper powder.
- To that, add the fried chicken and mix well.
- Mix all the ingredients
well and make sure that the chicken is well coated with the sauces.
- Keep
stirring so that the chicken does not stick to the pan. Serve hot!.
TIPS:
- Use Kashmiri red chili powder for that perfect restaurant-like color. This would add the much-required color without making it spicier.
- I have used both green and red capsicum. You may use according to your choice.
