Falooda

INGREDIENTS:

FOR JELLY:

  • Agar-agar /china grass - 10 g  
  • Water 
  • Strawberry - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp

SOAK SABJA SEEDS:

  • sabja seeds
  • Water

FOR FALOODA SEV:

  • Falooda sev / vermicelli 
  • water
  • Pineaple essence

TO ASSEMBLE :

  • Icecream (refer tips)
  • Chopped Fruits in sugar
  • Rose syrup / rooh afza in milk
  • Dry fruits
  • Cherry

METHOD:

TO PREPARE JELLY :

    1. In a bowl. soak china grass in water for 5 min.
    2. In a pan, boil water.
    3. Add china grass.
    4. In a grinder, add strawberry and take its pulp.
    5. Add strawberry pulp and sugar to it.
    6. Cool and refrigerate. Once cool, cut into small cubes and set aside.

SOAK SABJA SEED :

    • Soak sabja seed in water for 30 minutes and allow to bloom. Set aside.

PREPARE FALOODA SEV:

    1. In a pan add some water let it come to a rolling boil. Add falooda sev/vermicilli and pineapple essence.
    2.  let it cook for 4-5 minutes.
    3. Drain it and rinse it with cold water immediately so that it doesn't stick to each other.

FRUITS:

    1. In a bowl, add chopped fruits of your choice.
    2. Add sugar or honey and mix well.set aside.

TO ASSEMBLE FALOODA :

    1. Take a serving glass and add jelly cubes into it.
    2. Followed by bloomed sabja seeds.
    3. Next layer with Falooda sev.
    4. Now, add a scoop of icecream.
    5. Add fruits.
    6. Mix some rose syrup or rooh afsa in milk and pour it.
    7. Now, add another scoop of ice cream.
    8. Garnish with sliced dry fruits and cherries.


TIPS:

  • If you want to make homemade ice cream :
    1. Cut 2 bananas in small pieces and freeze it.
    2. blend it with 2 tbsp of milk and 3 tbsp of cream.
    3. freeze it to get your ice cream ready.
  • Serve the falooda immediately to avoid the ice cream from melting and overflowing.
  • You can make jelly using any fruits of your choice.
  • You can add any fruit crushes to make it colorful.
  • If using gelatin instead of china grass for making jelly, use 1 ½ tsp.
