Potato Smiley

INGREDIENTS:

  • Boiled Potatoes  - 2 large 
  • Corn flour - 5 tbsp
  • Breadcrumbs - 6 tbsp (Refer tips)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper powder - ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Oil

METHOD:

    1. Mash the boiled potatoes.
    2. In a bowl add mashed boiled potatoes, cornflour, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper powder, and chili powder.
    3. Grease hands with oil and prepare a soft dough.
    4. Keep this dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
    5. Now, place a butter paper or plastic sheet.
    6. Sprinkle some cornflour or maida or wheat flour. (to avoid stickiness)
    7. Divide the dough into 2 parts.
    8. Take 1 part and spread with hands or roller.
    9. You should spread evenly and a little thick.
    10. Take a lid/cap/cookie-cutter and cut it into circles.
    11. With the help of straw make eyes and with the help of a tablespoon make a smile.
    12. Keep this smiley in the freezer for 30 minutes.
    13. In a pan, heat oil.
    14. Fry all the smileys and Serve hot!.


TIPS:

  • For breadcrumbs: tear the bread into small pieces and pulse 2-3 times in a mixer or food processor.
  • Your measurements of cornflour and breadcrumbs may vary according to the potatoes you use.
  • Make sure the dough is not sticky. If it is sticky then add and adjust the breadcrumbs and cornflour accordingly.
