Malabar vella pola

INGREDIENTS:

  • Raw rice - 2 glass
  • Cooked rice - 1 cup
  • Coconut - 1 ½ cup
  • Yeast - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Water

COMBINATION:

  • Coconut milk  
  • Cardamon 
  • Small banana 
  • Sugar  

METHOD:

    1. Soak raw rice for about 6-8 hours.
    2. In a blender, add soaked raw rice, cooked rice, coconut, and water. Grind well.
    3. To that add yeast and sugarGrind to dosa consistency.
    4. Pour it in a bowl and let it rise.
    5. In a steamer, grease and pour the batter and steam it.

COMBINATION:

    1. In a bowl take coconut milk, cardamom, and sugar.
    2. To that add mashed bananas.
    3. Serve this with vella pola.

TIPS:

  • You can grind with coconut water for better taste.
  • In case you are short of cooked rice, you can add a handful of beaten rice.
