Chicken Momos


INGREDIENTS:

FOR THE DOUGH:

    • Maida - 1 cup
    • Oil - 2 tbsp
    • Salt 
    • Water 

FOR THE FILLING:

    • Chicken boneless - 250 g
    • Garlic - 8-10
    • Onion - ½ cup
    • Carrot - ½ cup
    • Cabbage -  ½  cup
    • Coriander leaves - ½ cup
    • Salt - to taste
    • Pepper - 1-2 tsp
    • Soya sauce - ½ tsp

METHOD:

TO MAKE THE DUMPLING SKIN:

    1. In a mixing bowl, add maida, salt, and oil.
    2. Mix well with enough water and knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
    3. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 20-25 minutes.

TO MAKE THE STUFFING:

    1. Chop onion, carrot, cabbage, and coriander leaves
    2. In a grinding jar, Put the chicken and garlic.
    3. Grind it without adding water.
    4. In a bowl, add the chopped veggies and chicken paste.
    5. To that add salt, pepper powder, and soya sauce.
    6. Ready to stuff.

FOR SHAPING AND STEAMING:


    1. Now divide the dough into equal portions and make smooth balls.
    2. Take one ball and roll into a 4-inch diameter circle. Keep the edges thinner compared to the center.
    3.  Put the stuffing at the center.
    4. Apply little water on the edges.
    5. Bring the edges together and twist to seal it. 
    6. In a steamer, add water.
    7. Once the water is boiled in, place the steaming plate.
    8. Grease the steaming plate with oil.
    9. Put the momos carefully.
    10. steam for 13-15 minutes and serve hot!


TIPS:

    • You can choose any vegetables of your choice.
    • Deep fry steamed momos for a crispy outer layer.
    • Enjoy momos while they are hot since its outer layer starts to turn hard/rubbery as it cools.
    • You can also make the skin with wheat.
    • If you are using chopper then put all the veggies together into the chopper and chop.
