INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE DOUGH:
- Maida - 1 cup
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt
- Water
FOR THE FILLING:
- Chicken boneless - 250 g
- Garlic - 8-10
- Onion - ½ cup
- Carrot - ½ cup
- Cabbage - ½ cup
- Coriander leaves - ½ cup
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - 1-2 tsp
- Soya sauce - ½ tsp
METHOD:
TO MAKE THE DUMPLING SKIN:
- In a mixing bowl, add maida, salt, and oil.
- Mix well with enough water and
knead the mixture into a smooth dough.
- Cover the dough and keep it aside for 20-25 minutes.
TO MAKE THE STUFFING:
- Chop onion, carrot, cabbage, and coriander leaves.
- In a grinding jar, Put the chicken and garlic.
- Grind it without adding water.
- In a bowl, add the chopped veggies and chicken paste.
- To that add salt, pepper powder, and soya sauce.
- Ready to stuff.
FOR SHAPING AND STEAMING:
- Now divide the dough into equal portions and make smooth balls.
- Take one ball and roll into a 4-inch diameter circle. Keep the edges thinner compared to the center.
- Put the stuffing at the center.
- Apply little water on the edges.
- Bring the edges together and twist to seal it.
- In a steamer, add water.
- Once the water is boiled in, place the steaming plate.
- Grease the steaming plate with oil.
- Put the momos carefully.
- steam for 13-15 minutes and serve hot!
TIPS:
- You can
choose any vegetables of your choice.
- Deep fry steamed momos for a crispy outer layer.
- Enjoy
momos while they are hot since its outer layer starts to turn hard/rubbery as
it cools.
- You can also make the skin with wheat.
- If you are using chopper then put all the veggies together into the chopper and chop.
