INGREDIENTS:
BOILING:
- Black chana / Bengal gram- 100 g (soaked overnight)
- Salt
- Water
MASALA:
- oil
- Mustard seeds
- Garlic - 5 cloves (chopped)
- Onion - 1
- Capsicum - 1 cup
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Ginger - small (chopped)
- Green chilly - 2
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Dry red chili - 1
METHOD:
- Soak the bengal gram (kala chana) overnight.
- In a cooker, add Bengal gram along with some water and salt.
- Let it cook for 6-7 whistles.
- Once cooked. Drain the water and keep aside.
MASALA:
- In a pan, add oil.
- Splutter mustard seeds.Fry dry red chilies and curry leaves.
- Now add onions, capsicum, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Saute till onions get transparent.
- Add turmeric powder and saute till the raw smell goes.
- Now add the boiled Bengal gram and saute well. (check salt)
- Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve with some onion and cucumber.
