Dry Kala Chana Recipe



INGREDIENTS:

BOILING:

  • Black chana / Bengal gram- 100 g (soaked overnight)
  • Salt
  • Water

MASALA:

  • oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Garlic - 5 cloves (chopped)
  • Onion - 
  • Capsicum - 1 cup
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Ginger - small (chopped)
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • Dry red chili - 1

METHOD:

    1. Soak the bengal gram (kala chana) overnight.
    2. In a cooker, add Bengal gram along with some water and salt.
    3. Let it cook for 6-7 whistles.
    4. Once cooked. Drain the water and keep aside.

MASALA:

    1. In a pan, add oil.
    2. Splutter mustard seeds.Fry dry red chilies and curry leaves.
    3. Now add onions, capsicum, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Saute till onions get transparent.
    4. Add turmeric powder and saute till the raw smell goes.
    5. Now add the boiled Bengal gram and saute well. (check salt)
    6. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
    7. Serve with some onion and cucumber.
