Spicy Potato Donuts


INGREDIENTS:

  • Boiled potatoes - 1 cup
  • Onion - ½ (chopped)
  • Green chili - 1 (chopped)
  • Rice powder - 2-3 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Cumin seed - ¼ tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder - ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala - ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Breadcrumbs - 6 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) 
  • Curry leaves (chopped)

METHOD:

    1. In a bowl, mash the boiled potatoes.
    2. To that, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
    3. Grease hands and prepare a soft dough.
    4. Keep this dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
    5. Now make donut shape using the dough.
    6. In a pan, heat oil.
    7. Deep fry the potato donuts.

TIPS:

  • For breadcrumbs: tear the bread into small pieces and pulse 2-3 times in a mixer or food processor.
  • Your measurements of cornflour and breadcrumbs may vary according to the potatoes you use.
  • Make sure the dough is not sticky. If it is sticky then add and adjust the breadcrumbs and cornflour accordingly.
