Bread Pakora | Aloo Stuffed Bread Pakora


INGREDIENTS:

    • Bread slices - 6

 POTATO STUFFING :

    • Potato - 2 medium
    • Cumin seeds -  ¼ tsp
    • Coriander seeds - ¼  tsp
    • Onion - 2
    • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
    • Green chilly - 3
    • Salt - to taste
    • Jeera powder - ¼  tsp (optional)
    • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
    • Coriander powder - ½ tsp
    • Garam masala - ½ tsp
    • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
    • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
    • Coriander leaves 

 COATING:

    • Besan - 1 cup
    • Water  
    • Chilli powder - ½  tsp
    • Hing - a pinch
    • Salt - to taste
    • Rice flour - 1 tbsp
    • Baking soda - a pinch

METHOD:

 FOR POTATO STUFFING :

    1. In a pressure cooker, boil the potatoes. Then peel and mash them when still warm.
    2.  In a frying pan heat oil
    3. Crackle cumin and coriander seeds.
    4. Add the chopped onion and saute till they are translucent and soften.
    5. Now add the ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves, salt, and green chilies. Saute for a minute.
    6. Add the turmeric powdercoriander powderchili powder,garam masala, and pepper powder one by one on a low flame and saute till the raw smell goes.
    7. Now add the coriander leaves.
    8. Add the potatoes to this mixture. Stir well.

FOR BREAD PAKORA:

    1. Spread 1-2 tablespoons of potato stuffing over one slice of bread.
    2. Cover with another slice and gently press down.
    3. Then diagonally cut them into triangles.
    4. Prepare a thick flowing batter with all the ingredients mentioned above in the 'Coating' list.
    5. Then heat the oil, till the point where a drop of batter comes up at once.
    6. Dip the potato-filled bread into the batter and drop into the hot oil.
    7. Fry to a light brown, remove from oil and drain on a tissue paper.
